Carman Romano

I fell into Classics after matriculating to Haverford College and enrolling in Latin simply to fulfill a distribution requirement, and I soon found that Classics is the discipline for students and scholars to marry their passions for multiple lines of inquiry. I threw myself into Greek and more Latin and brought the interests I’d developed as a presumed English and Religious Studies major to Classical Languages. After graduating, I earned my PhD from The Ohio State University where I continued to work on the imaginaries of ancient Greece. I have been teaching and writing at Bryn Mawr since 2021.
